The Minister of Labor Rwanyindo urged carpenters to make their profession more brilliant

On 18 October 2018, at IPRC Kigali Stadium, 1000 carpenters have been certified after having been assessed in their profession of carpentry, through Recognition of Prior Learning.

 The Minister of Public Service and Labor (MIFOTRA) Hon. Rwanyindo Fanfan, who was the guest of Honors in this ceremony thanked STECOMA (Syndicat des Travailleurs Des Entreprises de Construction Menuiserie et Artisanat) for  assessing these 1,000 carpenters. She also hailed their role in helping young generation and women to improve their skills and making them competent on labor market. She said that the government of Rwanda has done a lots in increasing the number of Rwandans who attend TVET Schools and promote Made in Rwanda.

 She asked the graduates to prove their competencies and show their difference from those who are still traditional apprenticeship. She also requested them to work hard and make their profession brighter and to approach the bank in order to take part in the development of the country.

“You need to work hard and make your profession more brilliant and join the bank in order to improve your life and take part in the development of the country.” Said Minister Rwanyindo.

 

 The Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) Dr. James Gashumba, said that this program of Recognition of Prior Learning has aimed at making workers more competent and truthful, and be able to look for a job inside the country as well as abroad.

 STECOMA is a Rwandan Trade union established in 2008 and until now   in collaboration with Workforce Development Authority (WDA) they have assessed 13,800 workers.
