RP: Official launch of the Ongoing exercice of distributing laptops to students on Scholarship Loans

Kigali: On 3rd December 2018, The Minister of Education Dr. Eugene Mutimura officially launched the ongoing exercise of distributing i5 POSITIVO laptops to students on Government loan scholarships at IPRC Kigali.

 In his remarks, the Minister of Education said: “Distributing laptops to students is the vision of the government of Rwanda to enhance teaching and learning using ICT as a driving tool to achieve development.”

He added that the distribution of high quality Positivo will specifically base on students in Year 1-4 at University of Rwanda and Rwanda Polytechnic on Government of Rwanda Scholarship Scheme.

The Minister of Education further expressed that the distribution of laptops will continue to self –sponsored students and those in private universities, teachers in Primary, secondary schools as well as in Universities.

He also said that these i5 laptops are in high quality and it will support students in doing research and improving their skills. He also stressed that 1000 laptops will be distributed today and the remaining 14000 laptops will continue to be distributed across the country.

The vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic Dr. James Gashumba thanked for the Government of Rwanda and the Ministry of Education and said that this exercice will facilitate students in learning and innovation.

 The Ongoing exercice of distributing high quality i5 POSITIVO laptops to students organized by the Ministry of Education together with the Ministry of ICT and Innovation and will be spread out to all students across the country.
