Miss Heritage 2018, Dushimimana Lydia called for girls to take part in TVET schools as a key to the bright future
On 12th September 2018, at G.S Rugando, Gasabo District- Kimihurura Sector, Miss Heritage 2018, DUSHIMIMANA Lydia visited students and called for girls to take part in TVET(Technical and Vocational Educational Training) Schools as a major key to the Bright Future.
Miss Lydia assumed that a key of richness is to study TVET Schools. She asked for the young girls to change their mindsets about TVET and it is no longer for boys only but take part in it as a manner of creating their own job and satisfying their own needs.
“In the past time, people supposed that TVET are for boys only, but today it is no longer for boys but to all Rwandans and it help to acquire money speedily.” Said Miss Lydia
She went on saying that the history put behind girls and whose who tried to come in TVET regarded as to abolish culture but today those beliefs have to change.
Kagango Diogene, who represented for the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic(RP) said that The Government of Rwanda decided to increase TVET absorption to 60% by 2017 and 40% for the other schools with the aim of responding on skills gap and help in creating their own jobs.
He also said that the richness country was due to TVET and asked for students mainly girls to have confident and take part in those schools as key to the bright future. He added that there are short training courses mainly to those who were not able to get education and they start to change their life.
Some students insisted that to take part in TVET Schools is so important as it helps to change the lives and wished to be helped to make a better choice.
Miss hertage 2018, Dushimimana Lydia is a student in Electronics and Telecommunication at IPRC Huye , and she make every effort to sensitize girls to join TVET Schools .
