Hon. Minister of Education Dr. MUTIMURA Eugene attended the 10th anniversary of IPRC Tumba
On 23th August 2018, in the Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre Tumba (IPRC Tumba), Dr. Mutimura Eugene Minister of Education, with guests of Honors including the Japan Ambassador to Rwanda, Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, Governor of the Northern Province, representative from International Parterner, the Japan International Cooperate Agency(JICA) attended the 10th anniversary of IPRC Tumba and appreciated their excellent works that play an important role in the development of the country.
Dr. Mutimura, Minister of Education said that he appreciated the great works they did and urged the institution to continue to reach out to more local people and homes during its outreach programs. He also assured the Ministry’s full support to the IPRCs across the country in promoting the Technical Vocational Educational Training Sector.
Dr. James Gashumba, Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic gave thankfulness to IPRC Tumba especially its former and current Principal for their great job and all college parterners and he declared that Rwanda Polytechnic will continue to support them. He also said that they will continue to brand Technical Vocational Educational Training schools (TVET) in order to make them more attractive to young people.
Mr. Takayuki Miyashita, Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda, thanked for IPRC Tumba and Japan’s contribution towards IPRC Tumba, where most of the school ‘s facilities were built through a Japanese grant aid project JICA (Japan International Cooperate Agency). In addition to providing the school with equipment in ICT, alternative energy, electronics and communication and the like.
Ambassador Miyashita commended graduates of IPRC Tumba for their excellent technical skills and theoretical knowledge that match the demand of the labor market and Rwanda’s vision of achieving a knowledge based society. He also expressed his hope that IPRC Tumba will continue to lead technical and vocational education in Rwanda by providing the country with much –needed skilled and innovative labor force.
IPRC Tumba is a well-equipped and one of the centers of excellence in Technical Vocational Educational Training in Rwanda, and beyond. And it has three key focus areas are equipping students with hands-on skills, implementing community outreach programs across Rwanda, and providing career supports and business idea development to its students.
