Bugesera: Schools management advised to set more strategies that improve the quality of education

In the on-going countrywide Quality Education Awareness Campaign, which is focusing on Quality of Teaching and Learning, teachers and school management urged to set more strategies that will improve the quality of education.

 

In Bugesera District; almost all teachers of the visited schools do not use effectively the instructional materials and rarely check pupils’ documents. They also fail to plan for the summative assessment after the completion of each unit. Furthermore; they don't formulate any instructional objectives.

 Ms. TUSIIME Angelique, Deputy Director General of Rwanda Education Board (REB)  called upon the schools management and teachers to play a paramount role in increasing the high quality education.

 Ms Tusiime emphasized that Rwanda needs literate people and this need will be achieved through started team work and good collaboration with Education Officials at the District and Sector levels.In addition to this; parents must be engaged in every activity to build a better future for Rwandans with high quality of education.

 

As a reminder; Ms Tusiime encouraged teachers to put more efforts in effective use of instructional materials; checking pupils’ documents and plan for a regular assessment for students.

 

 The current schools visited in Bugesera district are: EP. Rurenge ; EP. Kagerero; EP.Karambi  ; EP Gashora; EP Kagasa; EP Karera; EP Kalilisi; EP Mbyo; EP Gitwe; EP Kigarama; GS Dihiro; G.S Nyamata EPR; G.S Rugarama; UMURAGE RIGHT SCHOOL, Little Angels School ; EP Gashora; EP Mazane; EP Rwiminazi, EP Rukoyoyo and  GS Munazi. 34 schools will be visited in this district throughout these two weeks campaign (from 28th January- 8th February 2019), and the theme is "Strengthening Quality of Teaching and Learning in schools” (Gushimangira Ireme ry’Imyigire n’Imyigishirize mu mashuri).
